Car Rental terms & conditions
Reservations
All bookings are made according to the vehicle category and not for a specific model.
In case of unavailability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, Aperent reserves the right to provide the customer with a car of a higher category, without charge to the customer.
Driver
The minimum age limit of the lessee and each additional driver is set at 21 years and the maximum age limit is 75 years for all car categories.
Driving license
It is required to present a valid driver’s license for the Greek territory and the EU, which has been issued at least 1 year before the start date of the rental. Citizens of non-EU countries they are required to be holders of a driver’s license valid both in Greece and the European Union, or otherwise holders of an international driver’s license which they are required to present together with the valid driver’s license issued in their country.
Traffic tickets – Fines
Traffic tickets and fines due to violations of the Highway Code are borne by the Renter. In addition, the Renter undertakes the payment of management costs (indicatively return of car plates).
Means of payment
The renter is required to provide a credit card as a guarantee for the rental, even if payment is made in cash. Amounts which under Greek legislation must be paid by electronic means should be paid by credit card. The rental has to be prepaid.
Reservation – Cancellations
The cancellation of the reservation must be made at least forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled date and time of starting the rental of the vehicle, (always according to the exact time of reservation), as it was carried out in the company’s reservation system. If you wish to cancel a reservation, you will contact the company through the reservation system through which you made the reservation.
The following charges will apply to booking cancellations:
In the event of a cancellation notice received by Aperent at least forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled start of the vehicle rental, any amount paid in advance will be refunded. In the event that the payment of the respective amount has been made by card (credit or debit), the refund of the respective amount may take up to 14 days depending on the cooperating bank of the card you used during your reservation.
In the event of a cancellation notice received by Aperent less than forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled start of the vehicle rental, there is no refund.
To confirm the reservation, our company may contact you from 48 to 24 hours before your arrival.

Deliveries – Collections outside stations:
Deliveries and pick-ups outside stations are carried out at the customer’s request. For deliveries and pickups, the charges per route are as follows:
€10 : APOLLONIA, ARTEMONAS, EXABELA, KATAVATI
€15 : HELICOPTER, CASTLE, FAROS, XRISO GOUROUNI
€20 : VATHY, PLATYS GIALOS, HERRONISSOS
Additional driver
The charge for the 2nd driver is free. For an additional driver it is €4/day. The maximum number of drivers is set at 3 people.
Child seats
The charge for a child seat is set at €3/day upon customer request and company availability, with a maximum charge of €30/rental. The installation of the child seat is under the responsibility of the lessee.
Fuel
The lessee must return the car with the same amount of fuel that he received. In case the car is returned with a smaller amount of fuel than the original (ie the amount of fuel the customer received the vehicle) the customer is charged for the fuel difference. No compensation is foreseen for the customer if the car is returned with a larger amount of fuel than was received. Vehicles are delivered with a minimum amount of fuel corresponding to ¼ of the tank.
Mileage
There is no mileage restriction.
Accident
In case of an accident due to the fault of the customer, the customer is charged €37 for the costs of managing the accident file with the insurance company. In the event of an accident, the lessee must always notify the accident care and the police authorities.
Insurances
CDW – Damage Waiver:
The renter is fully released of the liability for any car damage :
over €700 +VAT if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for categories A,B,C,GM,GM3.
over €800 +VAT if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for categories C1C, C2C,C2CM,D,DD,DDD,DX,G2,G2X,K.
over €950 +VAT if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for categories F7,FAD,FFD,FR1,G4,GD,GQ,H1,J1,J2,K2,K2F,K2MAN.
over €1250 +VAT if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for categories F1,F2D,F3D,FDFF1,FFL,FFO,FR2,J4,J4H,J5,J7.
over €1500 +VAT if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for categories E-JL, L1.
over €2000 + VAT if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for categories JL, J3, L3.
As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.
Damage to the fabric roof covering (hood) of cabriolet cars, to the tires, rims, to the floor of the vehicle, as well as to its interior (car seats , steering wheel, etc.), are not covered and will be paid in full by the customer.
CPW Complete Package Waiver
The renter can choose the complete package of insurance covers which includes the following insurances:
FDW – Full Damage Waiver
THW – Theft
LW – Crystal Break
PAI – Driver Insurance
12€ in addition to CDW, for each rental day for categories A,B,C,GM,GM3.
14€ in addition to the CDW, for each rental day for categories C1C,C2C,C2CM,D,DD,DDD,DX,G2,G2X,K.
€20 in addition to the CDW, for each rental day for categories F7,FAD,FFD,FR1,G4,GD,GQ,H1,J1,J2,K2,K2F,K2MAN.
€28 in addition to the CDW, for each rental day for categories F1,F2D,F3D,FDFF1,FFL,FFO,FR2,J3,J4,J4H,J5,J7.
40€ in addition to CDW, for each rental day for categories E-JL, L1.
60€ in addition to the CDW, for each rental day for category JL,J3,L3.
Terms for insurance in the complete package:
FDW – Full Damage Waiver:
The renter is fully released from responsibility for any damage to the car if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract. A necessary condition for the release of liability is that the damage is not demonstrably due to a Highway Code violation.
PAI – Driver Insurance
Maximum amount of insurance compensation paid: 15,000 euros.
Insurance Limits: Vehicles are insured against third parties (excluding the driver) for death and bodily harm up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand Euros (1,220,000.00€) per accident and for material damages by third parties (excluding the AVANCE vehicle) up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand Euros (1,220,000.00€). In case of change of the above limits, the minimum limits, as defined by the applicable Greek legislation, shall always apply. Damages exceeding the insurance coverage limit, or excluded by it, shall be fully paid by the customer.
LW – Crystal Break
The renter is fully exempted from responsibility for any damage to the car’s tires or windows if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract.
THW – Theft
The renter is fully exempted from responsibility for any damage to the car in case of theft, as long as he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract. Main condition for the above coverage is the absence of negligence, even slight, or of unlawful conduct during the vehicle’s rental.
Damage to the fabric roof cover (hood) of cabriolet cars, to the tires, rims, to the floor of the vehicle, as well as to its interior (car seats, steering wheel, etc.), are not covered by the full insurance package and will be paid in full by the customer.
Roadside assistance
Aperent cars are covered 24 hours a day by roadside assistance. Roadside assistance contact details are stated on the rental contract.
Vehicle Replacement
In the event that a replacement vehicle is deemed necessary, up to 24 hours are required for the delivery of the replacement vehicle.
If it is proven that the replacement of the vehicle is ultimately not deemed necessary, then the lessee will be charged with transportation cost.
Transportation and driving a car outside the island
It is expressly forbidden to transport and drive the car outside the island of Sifnos.
